What I Offer
Frequently Asked Questions
What kind of coaching do you offer?
I provide private swim coaching, personal training and swimming lessons. Every session is tailored to the swimmer’s goals - whether that’s learning to swim, refining technique, building fitness, or preparing for competition.
Do you work with children and adults?
Yes. I coach swimmers of all ages and abilities, from young beginners gaining water confidence to juniors on competitive pathways and adults looking to improve technique or fitness.
Can private coaching help if my child already trains with a club?
Do you offer competition training?
Definitely. Private coaching complements club training by giving swimmers focused one-to-one attention. This helps them address fine technical points, build confidence, and get more out of their club sessions.
Yes. I support swimmers aiming for peak performance with pool and land-based programmes, including stroke refinement, race strategy, and strength and conditioning tailored to the competition calendar.
Are you qualified?
Where do sessions take place?
I am a Swim England Level 2 Coach and a Certified Level 3 Personal Trainer, with over a decade of experience at both club and private level. I am also registered with Swim England, DBS checked, fully insured, and I coach in line with Swim England’s guidelines, rules and safeguarding regulations.
I currently provide coaching in Borehamwood. I also work in partnership with high-quality facilities to deliver private coaching and small-group programmes, ensuring the best training environment for each swimmer.
Do you offer personal training outside the pool?
How do I book a session?
Yes. I design tailored strength, conditioning, and mobility sessions to support swimming performance and general health.
You can contact me through the website to arrange an initial consultation. This allows us to discuss your goals and agree on the most suitable coaching plan.
Do you run group lessons as well as private sessions?
Will my child be safe in the water with you?
I don’t run large group lessons. My coaching is focused on one-to-one, two-to-one, and three-to-one sessions. This approach ensures every swimmer receives the tailored attention and detailed technical feedback they need to make real progress. In larger group settings, it’s easy for individual needs to be missed - my goal is to give each swimmer the focused, personal guidance that helps them develop with confidence and precision.
Yes, safety is always the first priority. I am fully qualified, DBS checked, and trained in safeguarding and risk management. Every lesson is structured to be safe, supportive and enjoyable.
My child is very nervous in the water. Can you help?
How often should my child have lessons?
Absolutely. I have years of experience helping anxious swimmers build trust and confidence. Lessons move at your child’s pace, with plenty of patience and encouragement, so they can enjoy the water without pressure.
This depends on your goals and schedule. Some families choose weekly sessions for steady progress, while others book multiple lessons a week or intensive blocks during holidays. I’ll always advise on what works best for your child.
Do you provide feedback after lessons?
Do you offer lessons for adults too?
Yes. I give clear, constructive feedback to both swimmers and parents so you understand what we worked on, what’s improving, and what to focus on next.
Yes. I coach adults of all abilities - from those learning to swim for the first time to triathletes and competitive masters looking to refine their technique.
